Why hasn’t Bollywood siren Mallika Sherawat been seen on desi front? Though we miss her, since the damsel is busy with her pursuit of Hollywood dreams, we ain’t complaining. Now, she has managed to bag a movie opposite the Avatar star Laz Alonso (he played the envious Omaticaya leader Tsu’Tey). Certainly, it has started working for this gal.
In the movie Love, Barack, she will be seen romancing Laz on screen. As a tabloid quotes the actress, “Laz Alonso is a talented and exciting actor. I’m very lucky to be working with him.”
In the flick, Mallika plays Aretha Gupta, a devoted, local Obama volunteer, coordinator. The movie which is a political comedy shows that in the month before the Election Day, Democrat Aretha unexpectedly falls for her Republican counterpart (Laz), a handsome, dynamic African-American working for the local McCain office. Then what, sparks fly between the two.
Though Mallika’s Hollywood flick Hissss which is directed by Jennifer Lynch is still to release, bagging another project in Hollywood proves that her PR machinery hasn’t failed yet.
Way to go, babe!
Mallika Sherawat can comfortably slip into most outrageous and revealing dresses as was quite evident at the premiere of ‘Inglourious Basterds’ in Hollywood last year. But the bikini she donned for the shoot of a sequence in director Jennifer Lynch’s movie Hissss left so little to imagination that her brother barged onto the movie’s sets in Madh Island and stopped the shoot midway.
If reports are to be believed, Mallika was wearing a semi-transparent skin-coloured bikini that gave the impression of total nudity. Also present at the shoot was a nude body-double for Mallika.
Apparently, what Jennifer wanted was to shoot Mallika’s face and take shots of the nude body double and then merge them together on the editing table.
However, Mallika’s brother Vikram Lamba, who is also one of the producers of the film, didn’t approve of his sister wearing such a revealing bikini and reportedly stopped the shoot, demanding that Mallika be given a better dress.
A heated argument followed between Vikram and Govind Menon, another co-producer. Surprisingly, Mallika sided with Menon and said she had no problem wearing the translucent bikini.
But it was Vikram who eventually had his way and Mallika was given a skin-coloured bodysuit. Mallika plays a snakewoman in the film.
Now she knows where she belongs to, certainly on top. So, after being most googled celeb of India, and crowned Asia’s sexiest girl, Katrina Kaif wins the title of the most desirable woman.
She has topped the ‘most-vaunted’ hot list of the year released by channel Zoom – the ‘50 Most Desirable Woman’. Though the actress managed only two hits last year but her ghazab success through Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and her charming yet sensuous demeanor took her to the top slot.
The gorgeous Kareena Kapoor secures second position while last year’s winner hottie Priyanka Chopra holds third rank in the list.
