Around two decades ago, this serial gave us Shahrukh, the King Khan. But unfortunately its second part is not taking off. Shahrukh Khan’s dream of making ‘Fauji 2’ is not happening. Due to certain production problems the project has been put in the freeze.
According to reports, after shooting for five episodes, the cast of ‘Fauji 2’ have been informed that the project is not happening. The trouble started when the team failed to get permission for shooting at a military academy. An area with an army backdrop was required, and when the production team reached Dehradun to shoot at the military academy all they got was rejection from the authorities. And the cost of erecting a military set was too high to bear for the production house.
In fact, as per sources, King Khan too has shot for a few hours over two days in Mumbai for the serial. His role is of Abhimanyu’s dad. Pulkit Samrat, famous as Lakshya of ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, has been roped in to play SRK’s role of Abhimanyu Rai. Shruti Ulfat gets to essay Abhimanyu’s mother.
Produced by SRK’s Red Chillies Idiot Box Productions, ‘Fauji 2’ was planned for 2010 on Colors channel.
Seeing the scenario, this ‘Fauji’ seems to have tanked in its making.
