Man faces arrest for wearing too many clothes

Two Airlines Refused Boarding Man For Wearing Too Many Clothes

A British man was prevented from boarding a British Airways flight from Iceland to London after he attempted to wear 10 layers of clothes to avoid paying a baggage fee.

Shortly after the confrontation police were called and had to pepper spray him and wrestle him to the ground, according to local media reports - something which British Airways dispute.

On Twitter he wrote: "Being held at Iceland Keflavik airport because I had no baggage put all the clothes on and they still won't let me on".

After being released from the police, he attempted to return to England, this time on an EasyJet flight.

He tweeted: "And again!" Two security guards wearing high-vis jackets approach Williams as he asks: "Why can't I get on this flight?"

He eventually arrive back in the United Kingdom after taking a flight with Norwegian Airlines. However, he was refused a boarding pass by the staff in Iceland.

Explaining why he felt he had been treated unfairly, he said: 'I'm not saying they're racist but they see me - I'm 6ft, dreadlocks hair, military boots - if it was America they would have assumed I was a rapper but in Iceland they're not used to black people'. Security tried to slap my phone out my hand. "Police were called. I spoke to 2 police officers and explained my story".

British Airways says Mr Williams was turned away from the flight for "rude" behaviour, according to Metro.

In a statement, a spokeswoman for British Airways said: "We give our customers a wide range of fares to choose from to meet their needs". "Our hand baggage only fares from Iceland are as low as £47 each way, and are designed for customers who are traveling without any hold baggage".

When Ryan Carney Williams was unable to pay the extra bag fee for his flight last Wednesday, he came up with a creative solution, putting on the clothes that were adding weight to his luggage.
