Nomura Explains Why Kingdom Hearts 3 Is Taking So Long To Develop

The news comes by way of a new trailer for the game, focusing on Disney's Toy Story franchise.

"At long last, we are excited to open up the Kingdom Hearts universe to include the world of Disney•Pixar's Toy Story,'" said Tetsuya Nomura, director of the game series.

That "five people" in question would likely refer to the D23 Expo trailer, which showcases Sora in battle alongside Donald, Goofy, Buzz Lightyear, and Woody all at once. After studying the Toy Story timeline, developers chose to place this Kingdom Hearts III adventure after the events of Toy Story 2.

Kingdom Hearts 3 will launch sometime in 2018, a new trailer for the game confirms.

This news comes as a cool breeze on the desert, as the fans have been waiting for almost 13 years to get their hands on the next Kingdom Hearts game.

Kingdom Hearts 3 On The Nintendo Switch? Toy Story will be joining many new and returning worlds to be featured in the game, including but not limited to San Fransokyo (Big Hero 6), the Kingdom of Corona (Tangled) and Olympus (Hercules).
