"You guys are smarter than that", Obama told listeners at WWDC, Apple's annual developer conference.

Obama, accompanied by Lisa Jackson, Apple's vice president of environment, policy, and social initiatives, took to the stage to chat with developers about the role technology can play in "empowering people from all walks of life to make the world a better place".

"Women are in charge of everything, we do everything, we are in charge of everything in the household".

Michelle also let the Apple crowd know that former President Barack Obama is doing fine.

The conversation with Obama and Jackson began at 9 a.m. PT. "And there's still millions of girls around the world who aren't getting an education, not just because of the lack of resources or not having access to schools. there are cultural barriers that are keeping young girls down". "Too many of us want to be big influencers ... but we don't want to confront our own families on stuff [we] care about", she said.

During her time as first lady, Obama launched several initiatives that focused on themes of empowerment.

Michelle Obama said that building a trustworthy, diverse staff is not only important for politicians - it's also key for entrepreneurs. "Are you ready to share your spot at the table?' Then make room", Obama said.
