Likely to have been conducted after Saturday's attack.

It comes after Mr Corbyn told The Independent only "winning the election" will be a good result for Labour and indicated he may delay Mr Trump's state visit as one of his first acts in office. "Corbyn faces two problems: Young people historically have low turnout rates on election day, and in any case the youth vote and students are concentrated in urban areas which tend to support Labour anyway, and the UK's voting system means these additional votes won't count for anything".

When Theresa May called a snap election for June 8, her party held a seemingly unassailable lead over Labour in the polls, which has all but disappeared according to one survey.

Opinion polls by other leading polling firms have given wider leads for the Conservatives in recent days, ranging as high as 11 and 12 points.

Respondents said May was the most trusted leader on fighting terrorism and on Brexit, while Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was most trusted on Britain's health service. Cameron was succeeded at 10 Downing Street by May.

Labour have promised it will fight for the United Kingdom to remain in the single market and Mr Corbyn said a win would give him the go-ahead to negotiate tariff-free trade with the EU.

Clinton: Trump unleashed 'dangerous' level of hate
The former senator and secretary of state says readers will find out what was going through her head at key moments of the race. She accused the Russians of hacking her campaign and "weaponizing information" through dissemination of "fake news" reports.

"Up against the worst performing Tory prime minister in living memory, failing to win the election is an indictment", said one senior Labour figure.

It would guide deals using "local experience and expertise" and increase exports while ensuring "the benefits and prosperity of Brexit are spread equally across the country", the party said.

He added: "People are going to look at the front pages today and they are going to say how on earth could we have let this guy or possibly more through the net, what happened?"

In the previous Survation poll for ITV, published a week ago, the Conservatives had a lead of six points. But faced with mixed messages from the polls, which in aggregate are still giving the Conservatives a nine-point lead, the FTSE 100 was little moved, down three points at 7,522.

Sterling hit its highest level in nearly two weeks against the dollar on Tuesday before easing slightly, still buoyed by investors' expectations of victory for the ruling Conservative Party in a general election on Thursday.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has called for Prime Minister Theresa May to resign over Government cuts which left the police with 20,000 fewer officers than in 2010.
