May, Corbyn clash over Brexit plans with UK vote 1 week away

He also said Labour had the team with the "skills and experience" to secure the best deal for the United Kingdom if the party wins next week's general election.

Asked if he would consider negotiating with other parties if there was a hung parliament, Corbyn said: "We are not doing deals, we are not doing coalitions, we are not doing any of these things".

"We are fighting to win this election on a manifesto that I'm very proud of because it will fundamentally transform our society".

But if she does not beat the 12-seat majority Cameron won in 2015, her electoral gamble will have failed and her authority could be undermined just as she tries to deliver what she has told voters will be a successful Brexit. Those are the conversations we have had.

Corbyn's left-wing message appeared to be resonating among some of the residents of Basildon, a middle-class town near London that voted 68.6 percent in favour of Brexit in last year's referendum.

"We know the three Tories in whose hands Theresa May has placed our national future - David Davis, Boris Johnson and Liam Fox. It is the worst of all deals", he said.

He said Labour would be seeking a deal with the European Union that would "transform Britain into a country with the strongest rights and protections".

SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon and her London-based deputy Angus Robertson argue that Scotland, where a majority voted to remain in the European Union a year ago, should not be bound by May's plan to withdraw from the European Union single market, and have the right to hold an independence referendum at the end of the Brexit process. "But on what terms?" he said. "At the end of the day, honesty is the best policy", he said.

Backed Obamacare repeal bill disliked by 2 to 1 in poll
Among those polled, 48 percent of Americans said the legislation was a bad idea, and 43 percent felt strongly about it. The patient protections and essential benefits of the Affordable Care Act should remain in place for all Americans.

While the Conservatives are still ahead in the polls and on track to form a majority government, May's lead has been cut significantly during the campaign, with one polling company this week projecting a hung parliament, with Labour in second place.

The findings follow a clutch of recent polls which have suggested the gap between the parties is narrowing.

Corbyn refused to be drawn on the favourable polls, saying he would wait to see the verdict of the British people next Thursday.

The Standard continued:Asked who would make the best Prime Minister, 37 per cent picked Mr Corbyn and 34 per cent Mrs May.

The Tories have overseen an "extraordinary meltdown" of their manifesto, Corbyn said.

The party said elderly people who needed care will be able to put off paying for it until after their deaths so they could potentially stay in their own home for as long as possible. Today, Thornberry did it for them.

"While countries including China, Brazil, the U.S. and the Gulf States have expressed their interest in striking trade deals with us as soon as they can", the Conservative Party leader said.

Corbyn's opponents attempted to explain this applause away by arguing that the audience was disproportionately "left-wing", but Labour's rapid climb in the polls indicates that the growing enthusiasm for Corbyn is no facade.
