North Korea Launches Missile, Trump Speculates On Russia Response

US President Donald Trump is calling for tougher sanctions on North Korea following its latest ballistic missile test.

Following the missile test, US National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster spoke with South Korea's national security chief, Kim Kwan-jin, according to South Korea's presidential office.

A series of North Korean missile tests this year has sparked worldwide alarm and raised tensions with the U.S.

He also ordered the military to speed up the establishment of South Korea's KAMD missile defence system.

The South Korean military was first to report the launch, which took place at a region, named Kusong, where the North previously test-launched intermediate-range missile it is believed to be developing.

'The South and US are analyzing more details about the missile, ' it said in a statement without elaborating.

"Right now we need to gather and analyze extensive data (about the launch)".

South Korea, the United States and other regional powers have been stepping up efforts to diffuse tensions over the North's weapons program after a sharp rise in tensions in April over concerns that it may conduct a sixth nuclear test.

It said in a statement: "The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has established a Korea Mission Center to harness the full resources, capabilities, and authorities of the Agency in addressing the nuclear and ballistic missile threat posed by North Korea".

He also confessed to receiving "blood transfusions" and "going to the laboratories and so on and so forth". Moreover, The Guardian reported that he was also missing the Juma'at prayer at Aso Villa mosque last week.

The discussions of the two presidents also followed North Korea's early morning launch of another ballistic missile in defiance of worldwide sanctions and warnings.

Abe said, "Japan is closely cooperating with the USA and South Korea and analyzing the situation as we firmly respond to the development".

President Trump has been briefed on the latest missile test by North Korea.

South Korea's military warned that North Korea will face an unspecified "strong punishment" by Seoul and Washington if it continues provocations. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told reporters Sunday that the launch is "absolutely unacceptable" and that Japan will respond resolutely.

The U.S. Pacific Command, based in Hawaii, also announced that it detected and tracked the launch of the missile, which landed in the East Sea. She says more analysis was needed.

Inada's remarks suggest the missile might have been on a "lofted" trajectory, meaning it could have a far longer range than it actually flew.

The launch, if confirmed to be test-firing of a ballistic missile, is the first in two weeks since the last attempt to fire a missile ended in a failure just minutes into flight.

Japan said the missile flew for 30 minutes before dropping into the sea between North Korea's east coast and Japan.

The North is barred from ballistic missile technology under multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions.
