Trump Convenes Panel On Empowering Women In Business

President Donald Trump left speaks to his daughter Ivanka Trump right during a meeting with women small business owners in the Roosevelt Room of the White House in Washington Monday

Also in attendance was Linda McMahon, Trump's pick to head the Small Business Administration, who promised to advocate for women-run businesses at her confirmation hearing in January. The announcement of Ivanka's official role came after ethics criticisms following news that she was serving as an unofficial advisor to Trump and would have access to classified information without technically being a government employee.

Last week, the Trump announced that she would take an office in the West Wing and would not be paid but would remain an informal adviser without a job description. "But I just thought it would be better if I did not do it this year".

Trump chose to skip the dinner previous year while campaigning for the presidency, despite many invites from media to attend. "And for a while it was a very, very tough - nearly impossible - job", President Trump said.

Ms Trump has been mentioned by both her father and members of his staff since he entered the White House.

"I have no doubt that that's going to happen very quickly", Trump said at a bipartisan reception held for senators and their spouses at the White House.

It also accuses them of "piggy-backing promotion" of Ms Trump's products at government events.

His changes include getting rid of some of the Affordable Care Act taxes and rolling back the Medicaid expansions faster. He did not give specifics about what the next replacement efforts would look like or when they would materialize.

Ivanka Trump's attorney Jamie Gorelick said she will file the financial disclosures required of federal employees and will be bound by official ethics rules.

Her comments echoed those of the President, who had previously taken to Twitter to condemn clothing retailer Nordstrom after they made a decision to top stocking Ms Trump's clothing, Marks LLC.

The President has been accused of nepotism for Ivanka's developing role in the Republican administration.

"She will not be his only source of input and insight, obviously, but she may be able to provide insights into the concerns of people whom he might not meet as President", Gorelick told CNN via email last week.

Trump had already sought to distance herself from her business interests.

President George W. Bush, who worked on his father's campaign, is the most recent parallel to Ivanka Trump, said Kate Andersen Brower, author of "First Women: The Grace and Power of America's Modern First Ladies" and a CNN contributor.
