New iPhone's screen might be divided in 2 parts, report claims

If you think that the extra space from the home button's removal on the iPhone 8 will be left for screen estate, you're wrong. Coupled with the new device's rumored OLED display, which consumes far less power than Apple's usual LCD screens, the improvements on the iPhone 8's battery life is expected to be significant. Perhaps Apple will be taking a page from Samsung with its Edge app shortcuts on the S7 Edge, which are always just a swipe away.

Interestingly, though, Kuo anticipates that the iPhone 8's OLED display won't be truly edgeless as there will be extremely thin bezels on the sides and top of the device.

DigiTimes says the Foxconn Technology will be the supplier for the steel metal frame, while another metal chassis supplier called Casetek is also "aggressively sending engineering samples to Apple".

Homefront: The Revolution is Preparing for a Trip Outside the Walls
We now know when PS4 Pro support is coming to Rocket League as its release date has finally been announced. It will feature the fan-vote winning item and numerous technical fixes and improvements.

Which means that if you want a better battery life than the Plus version of the iPhone now offers, you're going to have to dig deep and pay a hefty entry price. The company recently joined the Wireless Power Consortium on Monday, which is being taken as evidence that the 10th anniversary will indeed feature wireless charging.

With past iPhone 8 rumours having suggested the phone will move its integrated fingerprint scanner beneath the screen after ditching the home button, the latest claims would fit with these reports. How is that? Well, Samsung is crucial for the success of the iPhone 8. The three smartphone strategy has been confirmed in the past by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities and Japanese website Nikkei. He's also hinted the iPhone 8 will have a new 3D Touch module with "additional graphite sheet lamination" to keep it from overheating.

For the iPhone 8, Apple will finally make the switch to OLED displays. After all, Apple's smartphones, while exceeding the market in numerous areas, fall quite behind when it comes to battery life. Whether it will indeed be priced above $1000 is something we'll have to wait and see.
