That's right, Monopoly addicts, the times they are a changin'. Protector of fingertips, your heroism was immortalized as a playing piece in the real-estate board game Monopoly. The toy maker had launched a "Monopoly Token Madness" campaign that allowed fans to vote on a mix of the classic eight tokens and dozens of new alternatives.

Voting ran from January 10 to January 31, and participants could pick their eight favorite pieces from a total of 64: 56 new ones along with all the originals.

It lost out to pieces such as the Scottie dog, the vehicle and the hat in a worldwide public vote over which tokens to save. The results of the survey will be revealed on World Monopoly Day, February 19 - which means more pieces could be sent to jail.

IHC imposes ban on celebrations of Valetine's Day
According to the court order, Valentine's Day-related festivities have been banned in public and official places. In Pakistan, Valentine's Day is seen by some as amoral and an appropriation of Western culture.

The thimble originally became part of the collection of pieces back in 1935. Some of the available choices were a T-Rex, rubber duck, and an emoji. The month-long fan vote has ended, and the thimble did not make the top eight, meaning it will be stricken from upcoming versions of the game. Most recently, Hasbro released a cashless version of the game, Monopoly Ultimate Banking, which used bank cards and an electronic banking unit instead of paper bills.
