Trump's national security adviser Flynn trying to survive crisis

As a flurry of news reports continues to link his advisers to Russian Federation, U.S. President Donald Trump reopened his front against the U.S. intelligence agencies whom he accused of leaking sensitive national security information to the media.

Late Tuesday, the New York Times reported that USA agencies had intercepted phone calls past year between Russian intelligence officials and members of Trump's 2016 campaign team.

Trump and Clinton sparred during the campaign over USA intelligence reports that said Moscow was involved in the cyberattacks meant to influence the 2016 presidential election - and help Trump win the White House.

President Donald Trump says former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who quit over links with Russian Federation, is a "wonderful man".

On Tuesday, Sean Spicer, the White House press secretary said that Mr Trump had known for several weeks that Mr Flynn had not been truthful about the nature of his conversation with Russian Federation.

At root, what Americans deserve to know - and know soon - is what ties Trump and his team have had over the years with Russian Federation, and how have they influenced him as a candidate and as president. Flynn, who initially claimed that the topic had not come up during the discussions, later had a spokesman say he could not rule out the possibility that Flynn and Kislyak had talked sanctions.

"The American people deserve to know the full extent of Russia's financial, personal and political grip on President Trump and what that means for our national security", House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said in a statement. On Feb. 10, The Washington Post reports for the first time that Flynn had discussed sanctions with the Russian ambassador.

Trail Blazers Trade Mason Plumlee to Nuggets For Jusuf Nurkic
Amid a breakout season for Nikola Jokic , Jusuf Nurkic had clearly fallen out of the rotation of Nuggets' head coach Mike Malone. The one acquired in the trade with Denver, which originally belonged to Memphis, is top-five protected, ESPN notes .

The Flynn resignation - and the leaks that predicated it - have pushed the broader question of Russian influence on Trump and some of his advisers back into the spotlight.

At his press conference with Netanyahu, Trump was not asked directly about the report (he took questions from Town Hall and Christian Broadcasting Network), but he tweeted early on Tuesday that "the real scandal here is that classified information is illegally given out by "intelligence" like candy".

Senators from both sides of the aisle are expressing concern over reports that Donald Trump's campaign had contact with potential Russian operatives - arguing this is further proof why thorough investigations are necessary. Corker did not, however, support the idea of an independent select committee investigation, something Democrats have been calling for. The Times' sources also disclosed that the contacts included Trump associates outside of his campaign as well as within it. Spicer said Trump and others in the administration had been "reviewing and evaluating this issue on a daily basis trying to ascertain the truth". The United States answered those moves with economic sanctions and bans on visas for some Russian officials.

"You can not have the national security adviser misleading the vice president and others", Ryan said. "To this day, we have no idea of Trump's business dealings with Russia- a gap in public understanding that is simply staggering for a U.S. president". "After the White House was informed, who made the decision to allow Flynn to continue to serve despite the fact he misled the administration?"

"These activities border on the treasonous", said Representative Jim Himes, a Connecticut Democrat on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, which is investigating Russian interference in the election. "And I suppose what bothers him is being forced to act". "We got a lot of killers", said Trump.

TheTimes report also notes that paperwork, which is "the lifeblood of the bureaucracy", has been unpredictable since Trump came into office, with officials learning of directives via secondhand news reports. Did Trump know about this particular chat at the time it happened?
