Elon Musk says humans must merge with machines to survive

Elon Musk SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket fins out as it lands

Elon Musk also talked about driverless cars which are one of the most popular fields of technology.

Musk expressed the same opinion in his speech at the World Government Summit in Dubai on Monday.

Since our brain in terms of speed lags behind the computing abilities of an AI pushing us towards extinction unless we manage to device a method of bandwidth interface to the brain; thus forming an interdependent relationship between human and machine intelligence. In a session entitled "A Conversation with Elon Musk", he touched on several topics including electric cars, sustainable energy generation, living in Mars, brain implants and space flights becoming as common as a plane ride. Also on the horizon are plans to introduce 50 new supercharger stations across the country.

Humans worrying about machines' future potency and world-dominating potential is nothing new; there's been like three movie franchises about that idea. We keep iPhones, tablets, and laptops on our persons now in a way that was rare a decade ago. The resulting potential of this would be extraordinary.

The tech visionary has invoked the way a computer can communicate or process a task at a rate of one trillion bits per second whereas human brain performs at a measly 10 bits per second. But there is a gap between what's humans can do and what machines are capable of doing.

While Tesla has developed the technology underpinning its autonomous vehicles, it doesn't mean that the automaker has let out its Autopilot technology - that largely depends on key factors such as regulatory approval.

Amnesty: Syria regime hanged 13000 in notorious prison
The report stated that they are then put on trial (a proceeding that lasts three minutes or less) and condemned to death . This figure did not include the estimated 13,000 additional deaths, those allegedly hanged at Saydnaya.

They say the move toward these (very powerful) electric vehicles is a key part of their autonomous vehicle strategy. Specifically, he mentioned how risky it could be to have "deep artificial intelligence" - AI that's "smarter than the smartest human on Earth".

Deciding what roles these people will then have is top of the agenda. He is not alone in his concerns, either.

"The most near term impact from a technology standpoint is autonomous vehicle". It was a kind of, "sorry, not sorry", statement from the billionaire.

While speak at the World Government Summit in Dubai this week, Musk warned that a universal "basic income" will become necessary as people's jobs are increasingly replaced by robots.

"Over time I think we will probably see a closer merger of biological intelligence and digital intelligence", he explains. "So the point at which we see autonomy appear will not be the point at which there is a massive societal impact on people, because it will take a lot of time to make enough autonomous vehicles to disrupt".
