Madison Square Garden Security Chief Fired After Charles Oakley Clash

Today the New York Knicks have fired their security chief, banned Charles Oakley from Madison Square Garden for life and released witness statements from MSG and Knicks employees regarding the altercation that went down on Wednesday night.

Oakley said during an ESPN Radio interview that he had been in his seat for just a few minutes when he was surrounded by security, denying that they approached him after he shouted at Dolan.

Charles Oakley maintains he did nothing wrong before he was surrounded by Madison Square Garden security officials.

During the Wednesday game, with the Knicks facing off against the L.A. Clippers, Oakley, who bought his own tickets to the games, was asked to leave the arena by security guards. The fact that Dolan refuses to meet with Oakley is petty as hell, but now he's blocking him from entering MSG, which is not going to help cease the tension between them.

It is unclear whether Benedetto, who Wise reports "was not a long-time employee", played a direct role in either of the two incidents.

Oakley, who was seated near Dolan, was physically removed from the Garden, arrested and charged with three counts of misdemeanor assault.

Oil down on Wednesday as supplies remain plentiful amid OPEC-led cuts
Last week, Baker Hughes said the number of rigs drilling for oil in the US increased by 15 last week, the 12th gain in 13 weeks. President Donald Trump said "nothing is off the table" in dealing with the country after its test launch of a missile.

"I'll talk about [the ban] in a little bit, but it's not necessarily a lifetime ban", he said, per Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post.

"[Security] came over and wanted to know why I was sitting there", Oakley told the New York Daily News late Wednesday night. "We weren't ideal here, but Charles never should have made it to his seats".

"I'm gonna cheer 'em on and hope they can get back on track and make a run and make the playoffs".

Oakley, 53, played 10 seasons with the Knicks from 1988 to 1998. I've said this before. he has a problem.

Oakley is loved by the fans, but he has not been involved in any of the team's 70th anniversary festivities and has not been invited to the arena after being very critical of the team's management.

DNAinfo New York previously reported that there is a history of bad blood between Oakley and Dolan.
