Sam Allardyce: 'Palace deserved boos' in 4-0 Sunderland defeat

Sunderland manager David Moyes has said that his side are gaining more "confidence" and "belief" after their 4-0 demolition of relegation rivals Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this afternoon.

It was as they were walking off at half-time that the fan broke onto the pitch to confront Delaney, coming face-to-face with the defender and appearing to grab his shirt before being restrained by security.

They came closest in the 86th minute via Jason Puncheon's low drive from the edge of the box, which was tipped over the bar thanks to the combination of Vito Mannone and Jason Denayer on the line to keep Sunderland's second consecutive clean sheet. The return trip was rather less jovial as Palace fans, who have probably by now had their fill of shifty shape-throwing managers, vented their frustration having seen their side ripped to pieces by the Premier League's worst team.

The Palace "ultras" certainly won't stomach a repeat of today's shambles when Boro arrive on February 25 - their next home game which follows a two-week break during which Allardyce has to provoke an improvement.

"I am confident we can get out of the position we are in because we have a good team of individuals but we need to work together so we get some wins".

As well as earning the team three much-needed points, the result also saw Rodwell end his dry spell.

She also said that Democrats haven't been given time to ask follow-up questions and that some of her responses may be inadequate. President, Jackie Landsdale, questions why a Louisiana senator would support the nominee who has no relevant experience.

"I think we're bottom of the league in home points gained, and ninth in the league from points gained away from home. I wanted them to push on".

Meanwhile new Sunderland signings Bryan Oviedo and Darron Gibson could be involved for the first time in the crucial encounter.

They have terrible form on the road with 7 defeats from 8 games and have netted just 6 times on their travels all campaign.

"A bit like we had in the first half of the season when we had a few wins".

Palace looked to have turned the corner with their win at Bournemouth but this embarrassing home defeat to Sunderland leaves then in real trouble.
