Facebook's Q4 beats across the board, monthly users up 17 percent

For full year 2016, Facebook reported daily active users (DAUs) of 1.23 billion on average, an increase of 18%. We expect the company to report revenue growth of around 44% year-over-year (y-o-y) and meet consensus estimates of $8.4 billion, driven by advertising revenue growth. According to the company's earnings report from the fourth quarter of 2016, Facebook now boasts almost two billion active users-and plenty of profit to go along with it. Analysts expected earnings of $1.30 per share, and revenue of $8.5 billion.

"Mobile advertising revenue represented approximately 84 percent of advertising revenue for the fourth quarter of 2016", the statement noted.

Facebook now has more than 1.8 billion users who log on every month and more than 1.2 billion users who do so every day. That's nearly 46 percent growth over the same quarter last year; in Q3, Facebook growth was 55 percent year over year. As a result, Facebook's shares jumped by 2 percent by the time the markets closed on Wednesday. This brought in an operating income of $12.43bn - a 100 per cent increase from $6.23bn in 2015.

Over the next five years, we're going to keep building ecosystems around our apps that a lot of people are already using. Based on these staggering user numbers, it's pretty obvious Facebook makes truckloads of cash from ads.

Dade Is the First Sanctuary Domino to Fall
Gimenez said in an interview with the Miami Herald that his decision was financial. Trump tweeted about the decision Thursday night, calling it the "right decision".

Facebook's push for video goes well beyond the News Feed. "They grew 57 per cent in 2016, and our current model has "only" 38 per cent revenue growth in 2017". Zuckerberg said on the conference call that Facebook plans to spend more on original video creators this year. Revenue per user grew by 29%, from $3.73 to $4.83. Facebook is a mobile application and Website that enables people to connect, share, discover and communicate with each other on mobile devices and personal computers. And profit margins for the year were 45% in 2016, up from 35% in 2015.

"We've seen continued growth and engagements on our platform, and our ads business is doing well, too".

Facebook has faced doubts about whether it can continue its runaway success in the face of such limits, as well as its absence from the Chinese market and criticism about its handling of so-called "fake news" posts during last year's United States election.
