With the success of Ishqiya, mag covers are in ishq with the movie’s leading lady Vidya Balan. The actress dazzles on the latest issue of Verve with élan.

Is she sporting a Sabyasachi Mujherjee, as she looks fab without revealing much in a classy coat teamed with a white flaired top? She has floored us with her stunning yet gracious cover look. Oh! she is speaking through her eyes.

And the cover murmurs, “I can be a seductress too.” Not much of a fashionista, the lady is slowly trying to find a place among the best dressed female personalities. Well, next year she can also feature on Verve’s Best Dressed Hall of fame.

Katrina Kaif receive the award from Priyanka Gandhi

Katrina Kaif had a few success secrets to share on Wednesday when she was awarded for excellence in performing arts.

The 25-year-old Bollywood actress of many hit movies was given the award by Assocham (Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India) for her contribution to the world of cinema.

Though she arrived 3 hours late to receive the award, Katrina was profusely apologetic and shared her secret mantra.

“I think everyone wants to make the best of the opportunities you get in life. Everyone has a special place in the world and I think self-belief is the most important thing which keeps you going so you should never lose it,” Katrina told reporters in New Delhi.

She was looking stunning in a green sari.

Katrina was to receive the award from Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra but the latter couldn’t attend the function due to some political commitment in Rae Bareilly.

The actress, however, made no issue of the situation as the award had already been pending since 2009 when she couldn’t receive it due to poor health.

Sure, independent movie trailer parodies based on classic video games seem to be a dime a dozen these days, but when one comes out that actually is, y’know, good, we definitely want to give it some kudos. Like this trailer for an upcoming film based on the Capcom brawling classic, Final Fight.

While all of the actors look surprisingly great, the show is definitely stolen by the Heath Ledger’s Joker-esque performance done by the Mad Gear Boss. Regarding if this will ever become more than just a trailer, we can all certainly hope so.

Shahrukh-Gauri love story to be Filmed by his Son?

According to filmmaker Karan Johar, the love story of Shahrukh Khan and his wife Gauri Khan has all the drama, romance and struggle to make for a gripping love story on celluloid.

Though not anytime soon, Karan Johar does plan to make a movie on his best buddy’s love story someday.

“I want to make a movie on SRK and Gauri’s romance. It has the recipe for a great film as it has got passion, love, parental rejection to the final triumph,” Johar is quoted as saying in a media report.

Johar added that he would probably make the film many years from now when SRK’s son Aryan has grown up enough to play his dad’s role.

Well, it’s a long wait, but we guess it would be worth it.

My Name Is Khan Music Review:

Sufi being the flavor of most Muslim centric movies Dharma Productions My Name is Khan – a movie based on Muslims in the US sticks to it. The lyrics, vocals and the music blend perfectly to give some good Sufi tunes and with Sufi tunes you seldom go wrong with the listener. SEL do throw in some well disguised rock elements throughout, hence making their presence go unnoticed.

With the beginning, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shankar Mahadevan provide Sajda. The effect is soul touching and heart rendering. It has a different sound to it, with the tablas keeping you hooked throughout the track, each piece is carefully placed. Rahat is the ‘ace’ of the song, which surely deserves a Sajda!

Shankar Mahadevan gets in his groove as a singer with Noor E Khuda and Adnan Sami supports him well. The beginning is slow, with light guitar, but it’s Shankar’s singing which does the talking throughout the song. It’s a song which talks about a soul-searching journey and the music completes half the job. Shreya Ghoshal comes in like the beautiful orange shade late in the sunset!

Shafaqat Amanat Ali has some magic in his voice, the way he said Mitwa a few years back or the way he sings Tere Naina. His smooth voice does wonders for the beautiful words penned by Niranjan Iyengar. The track changes gear mid-way when it slips into qawwali mode which elevates it further. Once on screen, it would get a life of its own!

Rashid Khan and the chorus sing Allah Hi Rahem in true Sufiana style. The music is true Sufi and it almost goes like a prayer. The lyrics are simple, yet profound and the vocals transport you to completely different mental plane. Meditate to this track and you will surely find your inner answers.

Rang De brings rock in this album for the first time, and Shankar Mahadevan and Suraj Jagan are best choices to sing this track. It’s a refreshing song about triumph, peace and joy.

Khan Theme by Strings is an intriguing and a soul searching piece.

Verdict: Kudos to SEL for not using any gimmicks to make this soundtrack more saleable. It might not win the rat race, but will surely stand tall in the crowd.
